If I could write you a poem

A shadow to dance, one has to deal with chasing a persona in the keeping of the words from escaping one's lips. Someone has to say something: A voice for what the poet is devising to find for answers. As if trying like in the face of everything: Pressing the point, peering into, imagining, thinking, getting a grip, and wandering.

You have to follow where your heart leads. You have to say what’s been left unsaid. It was your own tone of voice that will give it a glow, a little warmth. Something’s dragged on endlessly, which would endure in the midst of words, wherever this poem may take you:

If I could write you a poem
It must be short and simple;
Why bother making it long?
When few words could say it all

If I could give you something
It must be love--heart and soul;
For what’s more than I could give?
I’ll be giving you my all

If I could sing you a song
It must be one that’s thoughtful
Something you will remember
That you are so beautiful

If I could take you somewhere
For you and me to stroll;
It must be anywhere with you
And it will be wonderful

If I could build you a home
It must never have a wall;
So we won’t be divided
So we won’t search, knock, and call

The best way to love

The best way to love is to express the best definition of that love into actions. Otherwise, it will remain to be just a word. Love has been so much expounded a concept, yet so less actively expressed in reality. The theory has been so much given emphasis than the actual practice.

Valentine’s Day is only a few days away and, while some of the single people out there are yet on the hunt for whomever Cupid aims his arrow for them, lovers will have so much to celebrate about on that particular day. The concept of celebrating Valentine's Day originates as a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus. Saint Valentine of Rome's acount however, among others, became more popular so that the modern Valentine's Day is mostly based on his martyrdom. It was said that Saint Valentine, a bishop of Rome then, performed marriages for soldiers forbidden to marry, and for ministering to Christians. As a result, upon discovery of that act, he was imprisoned and later on persecuted.

Love has become one of the most “abused” of words or, to paraphrase such a short word to make it sound less distasteful, “absolutely used”. But yet despite the majority of people who know what love is, the problem lies exactly in the expression for what the word truly means for them to execute. Of course, there is long list of its many heartwarming definitions. Love is commitment, the appreciation of the good qualities the other person has possessed, is kind, humble, not jealous, and so on and so forth.

The solution should be focused on the transformation of the word into actions and not just to dwell on the definitions alone. Love shall not remain to be just defined but to be expressed in actions. If only all these people with the best definitions of their love be able to simultaneously express them into actions, there would be peace and harmony in the world. Have you expressed your best definition of love into actions already? That’s the best way to love.

A short clip for my growing son, Nathaniel

What you will see above is a short video covering the random pictures of my growing son, Nathaniel. Fatherhood has since taught me the true meaning of love expressed through the joy of the every day. Searching for love, I have somewhat lost my mind only to find my soul playing the role of one of the most rewarding of human experiences: Fatherhood.
