Un papel en la drama (A role in the drama)

"I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I have just lived the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well."
    --Diane Ackerman

"We are all visitors to this time, this place. We are just passing through. Our purpose here is to observe, to learn, to grow, to love... and then we return home."
    --Australian Aboriginal Proverb

like it was fire
surging from within
one clings into
the sweetness of
your dying hours,
the blacksmith swung his anvil
against the forge…
if you fear it so much, you may
remain behind the melody
it was too soon
for such intimacies
a crack of thunder and a flash of lightning
as this was the way you would look
when you’re anxious about someone
who was important to you.
i took poison sometime
during the night.
i am dead.
sadness washed through you.
you’ve been expecting the news;
nevertheless, it still came
as an unwelcome surprise.
i know how much you will miss me.
it was child’s play.
i am asking if you will attempt
to take it but what
if that was not occurred?
they say that was why she flew
into heartbroken rage
and gave her lover a poisoned cup.
tell her we will have several guests, including a lady,
for dinner.
