If ever things…

 "It all depends on how we look at things, and not how they are in themselves."
              -Carl Jung

 "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes."
             -Marcel Proust

If ever things were as nice
As you thought they should be;
It was the glint in your eyes
Which allows you to see
The Beauty that lies beneath
Or above, everywhere
As far as the Soul could breathe.
If ever things they were
But a sort of pure delight;
‘Twas your heart having wings
That fly high in broad day light
Whatever else that brings
To search thereon what is true.
If ever things were seen
Apart from the normal view;
It was your mind so keen
That sees through, beyond, at least
If ever things have been
There which you’ve had seen them best.
